AMA Superbike Championship

Dunlop continues to excel stateside, with Dunlop-shod riders enjoying victories in a range of motorcycling disciplines, from high speed premier World 250cc Championships to the thrills and spills of Supermoto.

One of the greatest successes last year was Dunlop rider Ben Spies. Having retained his AMA Superbike crown in dramatic style at the last round of the series at the expense of team-mate and fellow Dunlop-shod rider Matt Mladlin, Spies emerged on top of the podium in Superstock class.

We will continue our involvement in the AMA championships, using the lessons learned from telemetry and development to provide consumers with the most sophisticated production tyres available.

Neil Hodgson will be flying the flag for Britain aboard the Honda America Fireblade and will once again enlist our help in his push for the first American championship.

As Dunlop's road tyres continue to impress the industry experts, the manufacturer's race products excel on the world stage. With a wealth of experience at the top level, we are setting our sights high and are preparing for further successes this year.

California Superbike School

As well as some of the most important Championships on the motorcycling calendar, we're also supporting the California Superbike School, helping to harness new talent and push aspiring motorcycle riders onto the world stage.

The Superbike Schools are dedicated to discovering, improving and refining the art of cornering - which, as we know only too well, is where races are won and lost.

These schools have been offering world-class coaching in this art form for over 25 years to road riders, track dayers and racers alike. The courses run through four levels, which cover technical aspects of riding as well as over 15 different riding skills. These include looking at the most common errors that riders experience from novice to world class racers, sharpening visual skills, improving body position and finally reviewing progress and correcting mistakes. On and off track drills are used throughout the course and all riders are coached as individuals with on-track coaches offering advice on a one-to-one basis.

Over 110,000 plus riders have attended the Superbike Schools worldwide and over 40 national and international championships have been won by riders trained at the Superbike School. These include 2007 World Superbike Champion, James Toseland and 2007 AMA Supersport Champion Roger Lee Hayden.

Grass Roots Championships

Dunlop understands that it's not just the taking part that counts - and we don't settle for anything less than victory. We have enjoyed success in the domestic Superbike series for more than a decade and dominate the world 125 and 250cc championships.

However we also understand the importance of cultivating new motorcycle racers at grass roots level. That's why were supporting the newest talent with our extensive track experience and products. Riders in the ACU/Dunlop Tyres MotoStar Cup and the British Junior Short track Championship will all compete on Dunlop control tyres this year.

The ACU/Dunlop Tyres MotoStar Cup provides a foundation for young motorcyclists aged between 12 and 24 to get involved in motorsport, while the British Junior Short Track championship supports talented motorcycle riders from 12 to 16 years old who want to experience the thrill of dirt track racing.

Laying the foundations for the future of motorcycling is key and we're proud to be part of it.

In the press

"In terms of outright dry grip the Dunlop is comfortably ahead of the competition and the ride quality is nice and plush, just ahead of the Michelin and the slightly harsher feeling Bridgestones."
