  • Specifically developed for punchy, light and fast-handling Supermoto bikes. Mutant has aggressive front and rear tread patterns, and compounds for high grip in both wet and dry conditions.
  • Specifically designed light casings for supermotos - mono-ply construction on front and JLB on back - combined with very open tread pattern give the perfect "tyre-softness" for maximum grip on light supermoto bikes.
  • Wide footprints give maximum grip and new profiles deliver lively handling and lead to unbelievable manoeuvrability and super-fast peg-to-peg turn transitions, plus give total rider control when sliding the back-end through corners.
  • Specially developed silica-reinforced compounds give excellent durability with very high levels of grip on both wet and dry surfaces with a very fast warm-up time.
  • Aggressive tread pattern, copied from one of our racing "wets", guarantees high performance in all weather conditions.

Supermotos - it's all about fun and image.

For fun you want to ensure your tyres have light and flickable handling characteristics for those super-quick changes of direction, but this mustn't come at the expense of stability. You also need plenty of grip for those massive lean angles. This grip has to be predictable and progressive on the limit so that those skilful enough can back it in without fear of their tyres suddenly letting go.

The Sportmax Mutant has all of those qualities. The lightweight casings and tyre profiles, especially developed for supermotos, give rapid steering response and the wide footprints deliver assured grip and feedback. Dunlop's JLB (JointLess Belt) rear tyre construction gives the necessary control of the contact patch for superb stability. The compounds grab the road tenaciously whatever the weather and the tread pattern guarantees superb water clearance.

Ah yes, the tread pattern. Let's not be shy here - image is important to supermoto riders. They want their machines to look like race bikes and what shouts "RACING" more on a supermoto than a set of wets? That's all well and good until you realise that the design of wet tread patterns can contribute to excessive wear by getting very hot when used on dry or damp roads. The Mutant is different. By careful formulation of special compounds and adaptation of our race-winning tread pattern, Dunlop engineers have delivered a wet race tyre look-alike that lasts!
