Evolution is relentless. Every year supersports machines gain a few more horsepower and shed another kilo. And evolution doesn't stop with the bikes - riders are becoming ever more demanding. Where once they were content to stay on the road, more and more are now attending track days and racing schools and expecting greater performance from their road tyres.

By consulting with many of the world's finest sports riders Dunlop found out what they want from their tyres - better handling, more grip, improved feedback and faster warm-up. The Dunlop Sportmax Qualifier D209 is a new breed of high performance road tyre designed with riders' real needs in mind.

A combination of Dunlop JLB carcass and C.T.C.S. technology, along with an evolution of our Cosecant Curve tread design deliver rock-solid stability and razor-sharp but linear handling response for super-accurate corner shredding.

Aligning the Qualifier D209's Cosecant Curve tread with the forces acting upon the tyre at all lean angles ensures optimal pattern stiffness for good handling and means that stepped and irregular wear characteristics are eliminated. The longitudinal tread elements enhance water clearance for safer riding in the wet.

Ultra fine particle carbon and the latest polymer developments provide a tighter bond between compound components and give massive, consistent levels of grip and traction as well as incredibly fast warm-up times. Make no mistake, Qualifier D209 is capable of huge cornering speeds and the drive out of turns is astonishing.

But all of that performance isn't much use if the rider can't feel what the tyres are doing, and this is where the Qualifier D209 scores big time. Our engineers have done an incredible job in delivering a tyre that communicates so much information from the road and when cornering on the limit the Qualifier D209 tells the rider exactly how much it still has in reserve.

For the past two years the UK's most prestigious track riding academy, the California Superbike School has relied on the Qualifier D209 on both the coaches and the student's bikes. This is their job. They need tyres they can trust. They chose the Qualifier D209.

Razor-sharp cornering precision, constant feedback from the road and maximum grip for incredible cornering speeds - the Sportmax Qualifier D209 is the ultimate tyre to partner road-going supersport machines.

In the press

"In terms of outright dry grip the Dunlop is comfortably ahead of the competition and the ride quality is nice and plush, just ahead of the Michelin and the slightly harsher feeling Bridgestones."
