sportmax Qualifier RR

For hypersport street riding & track days

  • Dunlop Motorsport-derived Triple Tread Compound for massive grip at extreme lean angles allied to stiffer traction compound for improved tread life - the best of both worlds for street riders.
  • For a tyre in this category and with this level of performance the Qualifier RR's tread life is very good.
  • Lightweight casings and hypersport profiles deliver agile and responsive yet progressive handling while JLB rear tyre construction gives superb high-speed stability and shock absorption.
  • Very fast warm-up time to ensure rider safety right from the start.
  • Sportmax GP-derived tread groove design not only shifts water very efficiently but optimises tread stiffness for improved handling response.

Triple Tread Compound Dunlop Carcass Tension Control System JointLess Belt

The perfect balance between fast street riding and track day use is a difficult one for tyre designers to achieve. But with the introduction of Triple Tread Compound (TTC) technology for road tyres Dunlop has achieved just that with the Sportmax Qualifier RR.

Originally developed for battle in such race series as 250 Grand Prix, where Dunlop has won an unprecedented 15 consecutive championship titles and even more incredibly, the last 187 races, TTC gives riders race-like grip at extreme lean angles without having to sacrifice good tread life.

As if further proof were needed TTC technology is also utilised to give Dunlop total dominance of the AMA Superbike, Supersport, Superstock and Formula Xtreme championships in America as well as 125GPs at world level.

To ensure optimum tread stiffness for instant handling response, the Qualifier RR's tread design is based closely on the all-conquering Sportmax D209 GP race tyre. The tyre's shoulder areas are made up of 4% grooves and this maximises cornering grip and allows riders to get back on the throttle sooner for faster out-of-corner acceleration. Extra longitudinal grooves in the Qualifier RR's centre tread area deal efficiently with water ejection for safer riding in poor conditions. The tread grooves continuously coincide with the forces running through the tyre, curving to the tyre shoulders, keeping acceleration and braking forces correctly aligned as cornering forces come into play.

Riders demand that Hypersport/Track Day tyres give them massive grip and fast handling response but they don't want these features to come at the expense of fast warm-up, rock solid stability or good tread life. So by combining our wealth of experience with the following Dunlop technologies we've done just that:

  • TTC for race-like grip and extended tyre life
  • JLB casing construction for superb high-speed stability and shock absorption
  • New tyre profiles that strike a balance between fast handling response, pin-point accuracy and on-road stability
  • C.T.C.S. to fine tune the Qualifier RRs casing tension for improved feedback and agility

In the press

"In terms of outright dry grip the Dunlop is comfortably ahead of the competition and the ride quality is nice and plush, just ahead of the Michelin and the slightly harsher feeling Bridgestones."
