sportmax RoadSmart

High performance sport touring

  • Excellent durability thanks to Triple Tread Compounds featuring totally new compounds with two types of silica and Polybutadiene, which increases tread life considerably.
  • The best levels of wet grip thanks to innovative tread pattern design and silica compounds, which also ensure fast warm-up time.
  • Incredible levels of dry grip in its class thanks to TTC with new polymers and a special traction resin that give Supersport tyre levels of grip at extreme lean angles.
  • Close attention paid to the contact patches that ensures maximum gip. New profiles give linear, agile, confidence-inspiring handling and makes faster cornering possible.
  • Rock-solid stability thanks to front and rear FS-JLB construction, which also ensures good shock absorption at all speeds.
  • Constant road feedback in all conditions thanks to new profiles.
  • Performance so high that we approve the Roadsmart's use on 1000cc superbikes.
  • The new Sportmax Roadsmart has unmatched overall performance in the Sport Touring class.

ROADSMART COMPARISONS

Whilst sport touring radial tyres generally offer either better grip, longevity, stability or handling, the Roadsmart takes the lead in every area compared to its competitors.

The critically-acclaimed Roadsmart is an all-round performer, offering a wide variety of fitments for naked bikes, sports tourers, touring machines and supersport bikes. Since its launch, the Roadsmart has sent shockwaves through the sports touring category - excelling in wet and dry grip, tread life, stability and handling.

Central to the success of the Roadsmart is the race-derived TTC technology. We have already proven the capabilities of its TTC technology with the GP Racer Slick, GP Racer D209 and Qualifier RR track day and high-performance road tyres. The same three-part technology is now available in the Roadsmart sports touring tyre, which helps to make it 10-15% longer-lasting than many competitive products.

Dunlop's TTC tyres combine Lateral Grip and Traction compounds. This unique formula delivers increased side grip from the Lateral Grip compound for safer cornering and instant out-of-corner acceleration, and longer tread life and improved stability from the durable central Traction compound. The new compounds also enable improved steering response and handling.

We were so confident about the abilities of the Roadsmart that we invited top journalists from the UK's leading two-wheel publications to an exclusive test at our Mireval test circuit in France, where they tried the new Roadsmart back-to-back with our two leading competitors' tyres. The Roadsmart out-performed these tyres in the comparison tests. The new sports touring tyre gained the respect of the testers for its ability to handle every condition the facility could muster, including wet weather, dry weather, agility and handling neutrality tests.

It's the confidence we show in the Roadsmart - as well as proven outright performance - that has put the tyre at the pinnacle of the sports touring market.

In the press

"In terms of outright dry grip the Dunlop is comfortably ahead of the competition and the ride quality is nice and plush, just ahead of the Michelin and the slightly harsher feeling Bridgestones."
